Only a black activating screw is available for perma Frost. When the activating screw is completely screwed in, the ring-eyelet will break automatically at the intended break point, and the gas generator pellet will fall into the liquid electrolyte. |
The intended Break-Point ensures that the activating screw is tight enough to avoid pressure leakage. When the ring-eyelet is completely tight, the ring-eyelet will break at the intended break point. If the ring-eyelet screw is not completely screwed in, the lubricator will not be activated. |
The discharge indicator cap is made out of transparent plastic. It serves as an indicator for an empty perma Frost. At the end of the lubrication period, the piston becomes clearly visible. |
Only one type of activating screw (gas generator) is available for perma Frost. Two different metals in contact with a liquid electrolyte will create a voltaic cell. In a voltaic cell, the less precious metal becomes negative and dissolves. The more precious metal becomes positive and hydrogen gas is formed. |
The environmentally friendly citric-acid liquid electrolyte acts as the conductor between the different metals. |
The internal pressure of the hydrogen gas will push the piston against the lubricant. It can push the lubricant out of the lubricator with a force of up to 4 bar. |
The lubricant canister of the Perma Frost has a capacity of 120ccm. |
